We are consolidating our addition and subtraction strategies this term. We are trying to image in our head or use the 100 boards or numberlines.
Miss Catton and Mrs Macdonald's group are adding 2 two-digit numbers
36+42 = 36+10=10+10+10+10+2. Can you cross over the 100 boundary?
In Mrs Leftley's group we are using the pairs to 10 to work out bigger sums. If we know 6+4 = 10, then 16+4 must be 20.
Remember you need to know your pairs to 10 instantly! 6+4, 8+2, 7+3, 9+1, 5+5

We will be telling the time o'clock, half past, quarter past in words and digital. Some of us will move on to quarter to. A useful tip is that digital always looks backwards, words always look forwards.
